John Whitgift Foundation has received support from Croydon Council’s Planning Committee for a programme of work to expand and develop facilities at Trinity School. The Committee met last night (Thursday 30 April) and resolved to grant planning consent subject to the completion of the Section 106 legal agreement.
The developments at Trinity School on Addiscombe Road in Croydon support the school’s journey towards becoming fully co-educational. The plans focus on creating high-quality learning environments that support school students academically, socially, and pastorally.
The plans include:
- Ten new classrooms
- A new purpose-built Sixth Form Centre
- A new fitness suite and changing facilities
- Enhancements to the front of the school, including a redesigned pick-up and drop-off area and landscaped outdoor spaces

Subject to the completion of the legal agreement, the programme of work will begin later this year.
Our CEO, Roisha Hughes, said: “We are delighted that these ambitious plans have the support of the Planning Committee. This is another landmark moment in the evolution of Trinity School and a significant milestone in the Foundation’s outstanding education provision in Croydon.
“It is crucial that we continue to evolve our education offer, and this investment is part of our commitment to that. Expanding Trinity and enhancing the environment in which our students learn, grow and socialise, enables us to meet the needs of our current pupils and those joining us in the years ahead, but the impact will be felt for generations to come.”
“We would like to thank Building Design Partnership Limited (BDP), Gardiner and Theobold, HGH Consulting, and the rest of our design team for their hard work in getting to this point.”
