Gabriel’s Story – Trinity School

Gabriel completed his studies at Trinity School having achieved A-levels in Economics, Maths and Chemistry moving on to City University, London to study maths. However, this is on hold while his Rugby career takes off playing and training professionally with Harlequins. ‘Trinity has inspired me greatly to pursue a career in Rugby. My proudest achievement is learning the game of Rugby, achieving the U20s honours and now training for the Harlequins professionally. I wouldn’t be where I am now without Trinity – it’s where I first picked up the rugby ball and progressed through my career, so massive thanks to the teachers and coaches that supported me through it.’

‘Since leaving school, I have learnt to take every opportunity as it comes. You don’t get many of them and you’ve got to make each opportunity count so grab them with both hands.

John Whitgift Foundation bursary support has helped me massively. Without it, a lot of people like me would not have the opportunity to come to a school like Trinity where there are amazing opportunities available to you. It has helped a lot in terms of progression and finding out what I can do as an individual as well as in a group.’

Trinity School offers bursaries for applicants up to 110% to cover all tuition costs and assist with additional expenses such as school uniform, lunches and school trips. Bursary amounts are means-tested and dependent on a family’s individual financial circumstances and highest performance on the entrance exams.

John Whitgift Foundation grant over £5 million a year in bursaries across our three schools to grant life-changing opportunities for young people in the Croydon area and grant them an outstanding education. For more information on bursaries, scholarships and fee assistance visit our Bursary FAQ page or visit the Trinity School website.
